Kathleen calls her cat caves CHATeaux (singular CHATeau), a portmanteau of the French words for cat and castle. Cats find them comfortable and enticing. A little catnip (included) can add to the excitement. Kathleen wet-felts them from wool, and includes hand-washing instructions with each one.
Enjoy your cat's CHATeau for years to come. Wool is naturally anti-static so it doesn’t easily attract dust, and it’s anti-microbial, too. Use a soft paintbrush or a hand-vac with low suction to remove dust as needed. Keep your artwork out of direct sunlight, and away from greasy and dusty environments. The piece can also be gently hand-washed: fill a clean basin with cool water mixed with a drop of mild soap. Soak the piece for 30 minutes, then rinse in cool water, and air dry on top of a warm clothes dryer.
