Rose Brooch, Amethyst Series #2 by Kathleen Dodge DeHaven, Felting Artist
Amethyst #2: Rose Brooch
(Plus Shipping: $5)
Kathleen created this piece using wet-felting, the process of tangling and shaping wool into various shapes. She embellished the brooch with a sprinkling of “water droplets”—tiny glittering seed beads. To protect your clothes, Kathleen has attached a stainless steel clasp.
Enjoy your Rose brooch for years to come. Wool is naturally anti-static so it doesn’t easily attract dust, and it’s anti-microbial, too. Use a soft paintbrush to remove dust as needed. Keep your artwork out of direct sunlight, and away from grease. The piece can also be gently hand-washed: fill a clean bowl with cool water mixed with a drop of mild soap. Soak the piece for 30 minutes, then rinse in cool water, and air dry on top of a warm clothes dryer.
