Mary Jo goes wild with purple fabrics! Scrappers & Lucky Fish

Mary Jo Oxrieder

"Move, touch and inspire" is the motto that drives me to make art. I play with materials, textures, colors and found objects of all kinds. I draw with pen then paint with watercolors and acrylics, careful adding sparkly or opalescent  mediums. I craft whimsical pieces from fabric -Scrappers, Lucky Fish and Hearts. I use wood, found objects - whatever bright shiny object catches my eye - to make fun stuff.

My core pieces are my Fantasy Houses. My whimsical Houses, whether anchored on a mountain, snugged by the sea or flying through the air, are the stuff of dreams. Enjoy!

ABOUT SCRAPPERS

Scrappers, are made from bits and pieces of fabric, yarn, buttons, the softest of stuffing and plastic craft pellets. Each is one of a kind, designed from scratch without a pattern. Double-stitched and created from pre-washed, durable fabrics (most especially cotton batik), they’re sturdy and made for an active life. Scrappers always have pockets and a heart. They’re quite insistent on their names (in rare cases they’ll only tell their new person.)

Scrappers – as you might get from the name – are rough and tumble. They’re typically feisty, mischievous and are always up for an adventure. They want to hear about dreams, adventures, plans. We’ve noticed that they hang out with pixies, nature and house spirits and have a yen for fairy dust sparkle. They love games and hide and seek. Scrappers travel light but are very attached to their Lucky Penny. If for some reason it gets misplaced, please find them another as quickly as possible. (Do you really want them scrabbling through your purse or pockets?)

CAUTION
: Since Scrappers carry small objects in their pockets, contain doll pellets and have yarn for hair (unknown dyes) they are NOT for LittleOnes who are still putting things in their mouths. Please take care!
