The fleeting connection of mother to child is reflected in this sculpture of an adult and young bear. The two bears were carved from one stone and are held together by a narrow stone connection, reflective of the need for eventual separation of the cub when she must become an adult. The connection still exists but only for the moment. Life is full of connections we have with others. many last a lifetime, but many fade as time passes.
