Story: We moved in the spring to a sweet home on a large piece of property. And this property – meadow and forest – lives on an island in the Pacific Northwest. I tell you this because I want you to have a sense that we live here for the peace of it. The quiet, solitude and oneness with nature that we love so much. It offsets our crazy busy, intense work lives. That said, here’s our story. We bought a few dozen solar lights and set them out around our meadow at random. They look like fairy lights out there at night and we love them. Then one stormy spring night, we woke to an odd noise barely heard above the wind in out back. In our meadow sat the sweetest little space ship we’d ever seen in any movie we’ve ever watched. IN OUR BACK YARD and for real! When we got up the nerve to investigate, a door in the spacecraft slid open and strange beings gingerly stepped out to greet us.
Evidently we’d created a pattern with our solar lights that said “friends – come visit.” And we did, indeed, become friends – two of a number of humans around the Earth that they come stay with when they fly this way. Eventually we were invited to visit with them on their world. Talk about seeing new places to broaden our minds! Is it any surprise people at work wonder at our occasional secret smiles? Wonder why we don’t post pics of our vacations on Facebook. Wonder why we’re a bit vague when they ask us how it went. Let’s just say we live an interesting and unexpected life…
